Something beautiful is coming for your curls

I'm Christine, and wash day in my house is a whole thing because I have two daughters with curly hair, so we are doing this three times over every single week. And the tangles do not wait for wash day.

My stylist Sherrell Harris of Hair Health Hawaii was the one who changed how I thought about it. I had just colored my hair and she told me steam treatments would prevent breakage and help my hair stay healthy through the process, so I went and bought the only steam tool on the market, the Pattern steamer. It works and I still have it. But steaming is its own weekly treatment, and the part that was actually hurting was the detangling.

Sherrell was right that the answer was already in what she told me. What I realized was that it did not have to be a separate weekly ritual at a bathroom counter. It could happen in the living room, with the kids, as part of the thing we were already doing. And it had to be gentle, because most tools built for hair like ours are not.
